Fletcher Cox (born December 13, 1990) is an American football defensive tackle for the National Football League’s Philadelphia Eagles (NFL). He attended Mississippi State and was drafted by the Eagles in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft. Cox has six Pro Bowl appearances and a Super Bowl championship.

Cox went to Yazoo City High School in Yazoo City, Mississippi, where he participated in football, basketball, and track. Cox attended Mississippi State University for three years. Cox was named an All-American by Pro Football Weekly as a junior in 2011 after totaling 103 tackles, 11 quarterback sacks, and two interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown. He had 104 total tackles as a senior, including 10 quarterback sacks, as well as one interception and one fumble recovery. He was chosen to represent Mississippi in the Mississippi-Alabama High School All-Star game.
He also competed on the Yazoo High track and field team, where he competed in the high jump and relays. He finished eighth in the high jump event at the 2009 Division 3-4A Meet, leaping 1.74 meters. He set personal best times in relays of 44.32 seconds in the 4 100m relay and 1:32.63 minutes in the 4 200m relay. He also ran the 40-yard dash in 4.47 seconds and benched 300 pounds. He was rated as the No. 5 weak-side defensive end in the country and the No. 2 prospect in Mississippi by the national recruiting website Rivals.com. Scout.com ranked him as the country’s No. 17 defensive end prospect. He chose MSU over scholarship offers from LSU, Alabama, Auburn, and Ole Miss.
